12/5/24

‘twas the morning

On the 10th of May
That found me
Walking
Once again
Down the sleepy Gloucester Road
Waking up to heatwave
Yet in the very soul
It snowed

And snowed

High up
Flying
Was my empty head
Lost in the shots
Of dying
And dead
Meeting mute shadows
On the way

When one
Out of the blue
Decided to say
Tenderly
In a velvet voice
“Thank you”

The melody seized the winged thoughts
Landing them fast
By the weight of such two words
To meet a tall adonis on the ground
Reaching out
To me
Slowing down his pace
For me

Just to found
Another
Humble
“Thank you”

That’s when I met an eye
Mirroring mine
And eye knew
He was one of them
And so I smiled
A genuine smile
Unable to act
Any other way

A moment in time
And two
Used to be strangers parted
And flew

He followed South
Freezing an image of his heart on mine
For rainy days
And eye marked North
Melting in sudden tears
Unable to breathe in
Thinking
About the horrors happening in his ancestral land

Wearing my 🇵🇸 🤍
